Ohio State star Neal Shipley has performed admirably in the majors this year, making the cut at The Masters. On Sunday afternoon, he finished with a final score of 6-over par, putting him just ahead of other amateurs to make the cut, Luke Clanton (8-over par) and Gunnar Broin (16-over par). That gives Shipley low amateur honors at both the US Open and The Masters.

In doing so, he became the first player to earn low amateur honors at both the US Open and The Masters since Viktor Hovland did it in 2019.

Some other notable golfers who have accomplished the same feat in the past: Matt Kuchar (1998), Phil Mickelson (1991), Jack Nicklaus (1960), and Ken Venturi (1956).
