Newcastle United apparently could be a real thorn in West Ham United’s side in the summer transfer window.

West Ham are set to face a big battle ahead this summer, as Newcastle allegedly move in to position to sign a truly top-class forward.

Julen Lopetegui needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer as a matter of urgency.

However, there is one position that arguably needs to be strengthened more than any other at the London Stadium.

Since Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were allowed to leave in January, the Hammers have been without a right-footed left winger.

That will surely all change this summer, but Newcastle might just throw a spanner in the works for West Ham…

That’s because The Chronicle are claiming that Newcastle could move in to place to sign one of West Ham’s summer transfer targets.

We all know how the Tyneside outfit’s spending power is far greater than ours.

Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville is said to be firmly on the Toon’s radar – a player who Lopetegui apparently wants to bring to the London Stadium.

Described by TEAMtalk as ‘explosive’, the 22-year-old Leeds attacker is extremely hot property this summer.

Leeds could ask for around £30 million for the young Dutch winger (TEAMtalk), and that sounds like exceptional value to me.

A right-footed left winger, Summerville bagged 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Leeds this season just gone (Transfermarkt).

Lopetegui is crying out for a right-footed left winger, and the Leeds man is absolutely perfect for the job at the London Stadium.

However, Newcastle will seemingly be a big problem for West Ham in the race to sign Crysencio Summerville this summer.

If we miss out on the Leeds man to the Magpies it will be such a shame.
