'I'm going' - Roy Keane simply could not agree with Souness and Wright over Euro 2024 winner, there's one favourite for him

Manchester United legend Roy Keane did not see eye to eye with Graeme Souness and Ian Wright over which team would be crowned champions at Euro 2024.

Euro 2024 officially kicked off last week and host nation Germany were in action on the opening day of the tournament against Scotland.

Julian Nagelsmann’s men thrashed 10-man Scotland 5-1 in their Group A opener at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena stadium last Friday.

Germany, who have not won the UEFA competition since Euro 96, have been tipped as one of the favourites to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy this summer.

Joining Julian Nagelsmann’s side among the Euro 2024 favourites are Portugal, England and France.

England began their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Serbia in their Group C clash on Sunday, with Jude Bellingham finding the back of the net.

Portugal are set to face Group F opponents the Czech Republic on Tuesday, while France will face Ralf Rangnick’s Austria side in Group A on Monday evening.

Manchester United players have been called up for international duty at Euro 2024, while others are set to represent their countries at the 2024 Copa America.

Keane names his Euro 2024 favourite

Speaking to ITV Sport (via TikTok), Roy Keane, Graeme Souness and Ian Wright all dropped their predictions for the winner of Euro 2024.

Arsenal legend Wright, who is part of ITV’s punditry line-up, was conflicted with his decision and admitted in his heart that he would want England to win.

However, the 60-year-old ITV pundit said that he would “probably” choose France ahead of England if he went with his head over his heart.

“Am I going with my heart or my head?” Wright asked, before adding: “If I go with my heart, then it’s got to be England.

“But I think I’m going to probably go with France.”

Liverpool legend Souness, unlike Wright, didn’t hesitate for one moment when he picked England as his choice to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy.

Keane, who has previously revealed his Euro 2024 prediction, admitted that host nation Germany are his favourites to win the tournament.

“I’m going to go with Germany,” he said.

“I think they’ll get out of the group. They get momentum behind them.

“They’ve got some brilliant players. They do lack a probably real out-and-out goal scorer, but I’ll go with Germany.”

Keane reveals his Euro 2024 Golden Boot prediction

During the series of questions, former Manchester United captain Keane was asked to make a prediction for who will take home the Golden Boot at Euro 2024.

The 52-year-old believes that England captain Harry Kane will scoop the Golden Boot, despite predicting the Three Lions will not win Euro 2024.

“I’m going to say Harry Kane,” Keane said.

Wright was torn on England skipper Kane and France captain Kylian Mbappe before picking the latter for his Euro 2024 Golden Boot winner.

“I’m thinking Harry Kane or Mbappe. I’m going to go with Mbappe,” he said.

Souness, on the other hand, was in agreement with Keane and backed Bayern Munich striker Kane to leave the tournament as the Golden Boot recipient.
