The Gusto Group which runs Newark and Sherwood United Football Club created a new T-shirt to support the B Corp movement

A business created a football shirt to celebrate more than 2,000 companies doing their bit to promote inclusivity and sustainability in sport.

The Gusto Group which runs Newark and Sherwood United Football Club, also known as The Highwaymen, came up with the idea following the success of B Corp month.

The sponsor logo on the front of the kit T-shirt will be replaced with ‘Supported by B Corps’ and the shirt will include the names of all current UK B Corps within its design as a way to promote the B Corp movement.

New design for Newark and Sherwood FC

B Corps are companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Steff Wright, chairman of Gusto Group, a UK B Corp, said: “Our goal with the shirt is to speak to a new audience for B Corps, one which has traditionally been bombarded by marketing messages from the gambling, aviation and fossil fuel industries.

“We currently have B Corp sponsors for the club, including BOSH! and Shakespeare Martineau, but wanted to take this one step further.

“As a semi-professional football club, ‘The Highwaymen’ compete in the FA Cup, FA Vase and play at Step 5 in the football pyramid and are passionate about doing football differently.

“We are the second vegan football club in the UK and promote diversity and inclusivity within grassroots sport.”

The T-shirts will be manufactured by B Corp Tsunami Sport and are available for sponsorship by certified B Corps.

Steff has created a Crowdfunder for those who wish to support the club’s mission or pre-order their own T-shirt.

People can donate at https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/b-corp-football-shirt.

Those who wish to sponsor the B Corp football T-shirt can contact hello@nsufc.co.uk, a B Corp Vegan food brand, BOSH!.

B Corps that don’t want their company name included in the design can also contact the email address above by June 28.
