Report: Champions League club make contact to sign £30m Everton player who Sean Dyche bought

Everton need to sell someone soon, with the June 30th PSR deadline an alarming reminder of the years of failure that Farhad Moshiri has wrought.

The Iranian billionaire, who joined the club in 2016, promised a brighter future where he would tranform the Toffees from a feeder club for the big boys to be alongside them.

Now, ironically enough, this summer is set to see at least one major sale from Goodison Park, with Jarrad Branthwaite, Amadou Onana, Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all having been rumoured with a summer exit.

However, if they can balance the books without offloading one of this quartet, Sean Dyche might actually be able to hold onto this remarkable core which helped them achieve Premier League survival last campaign.

Beto could leave Everton this summer

That’s where Beto could come in, with the Portuguese marksman having now been linked with an exit just one year after he was signed by Dyche and Kevin Thelwell.

Brought in from Udinese, the hulking forward was expected to provide some much-needed cover in a real problem area for Everton.

But with just one Premier League goal to his name, things have really not worked out, leaving the door open to a potential exit this summer.

That is what is being reported by Sabah, who suggests that Champions League outfit Fenerbahçe have already made contact with the Toffees with a view to purchasing the striker.

Talks are ongoing between the Merseyside outfit and the Turkish club, who have appointed Jose Mourinho this summer.

Everton could afford to offload a striker

Whisper it quietly, but it does feel like Calvert-Lewin is now over the worst of his fitness issues.

Having suffered for two straight campaigns with unrelenting injuries, whether it be a recurring hamstring complaint or a freak foot injury, the sport has not been kind to the 27-year-old striker.

Fresh from his finest two seasons in an Everton shirt, he had been driven back into the ground and forced to start over.

Only once Dyche entered the fold at Goodison Park has he been treated properly, allowed to heal with the backing of two strikes.

However, with those ailments now behind him, and with a seven-goal haul in the Premier League to be built on next year, there is simply no need to have both Beto and Youssef Chermiti behind him.

The latter has shown great promise from the bench in recent months, whilst the former has failed to make his mark despite making 30 league appearances.

To ease their PSR woes, it might make sense to offload their£30m signing from last summer and place full faith in Calvert-Lewin once again.
