Deadly Israel strikes on Gaza's Nuseirat, Lebanon talks continue

Two Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip's Nuseirat camp killed at least 17 people overnight Monday-Tuesday despite a lull in fighting over the weekend, while talks continue to prevent an escalation in Lebanon continue.

The first airstrike killed 10 people, media reports said, including women and children, five of them were from the same family. An hour later, a second attack targeted another home, killing members of the same family.

Early on Tuesday, Israeli forces reportedly destroyed residential complexes near southern Gaza's Rafah, with sporadic clashes between Hamas and Israeli soldiers being reported in the city.

More than 37,000 have been killed since Israel's war on Gaza erupted on 7 October last year, with thousands more missing.

Meanwhile, a senior Biden adviser will travel to Beirut on Tuesday for meetings to avoid further escalation between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah with Amos Hochstein in Israel on Monday as border fighting worsens in recent weeks.
