'Unbelievable': Journalist stunned at Nottingham Forest deal, makes bold prediction about £3.4m star

A Brazilian journalist has gone berserk at the reports that Carlos Miguel is set to sign for Nottingham Forest.

The Reds are going to be busy it would seem during the transfer window this summer.

It might not be as hectic as it has been in recent years but nonetheless, it would appear there will be lots of activity.

Last night, John Percy claimed that Forest were getting very close to the signing of Miguel from Corinthians.

He’s a giant of a goalkeeper standing at 6ft 7in andForest have now activated his £3.4 million release clause.

It would appear as though the decision to sell him won’t be a popular one over in Brazil.

Now, one journalist is incensed at the situation Corinthians find themselves in and has voiced his disapproval.

It would appear as though over in Brazil, this deal isn’t going to prove particularly popular.

Forest will hope that they hit the jackpot with Miguel, with Murillo proving a huge hit since his £10.4 million transfer from the same club.

Benjamin Back hosts South American football for CNN and he’s not impressed with this deal.

He believes that Corinthians are making a huge mistake and has also made a bold claim about what Miguel can achieve in the future.

He toldTorcedores: “Congratulations to everyone involved who let Carlos Miguel go and for a mixed bag.

“I have no doubt that he will be the Brazilian team’s goalkeeper in the short term.

“The guy is a monster and they let him go for nothing. Congratulations to those involved.

“You sent away the guy who will be the greatest goalkeeper in Brazil. Congratulations. Unbelievable.”

Forest could hit the jackpot with Miguel signing

The Reds are getting this area of the pitch sorted quickly this summer – and that represents a change of tact from last season.

Forest only signed Matt Turner just days before playing Arsenal on the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign.

They spent the pre-season with George Shelvey playing between the posts and it wasn’t ideal preparation.

Matz Sels finished last season as the number one goalkeeper and he will still be around the club despite the arrival of Miguel.

It looks as though Turner andOdysseas Vlachodimos will leave, however, as Forest look to streamline their goalkeeping department.

Miguel feels like a pretty good signing from the outset.

He made a brilliant save against Sao Paulo at the weekend and he’s also not afraid to mix it up in a physical sense.

Miguel hasn’t played a lot of football so that might be a risk but ultimately at £3.4 million, he’s well worth the risk from a Forest perspective.
