Data reveals who has the edge during 24/25 Premier League run-in between Man City and Arsenal

Data has already revealed which team out of Arsenal and Manchester City has the edge in the run-in for the 2024/25 Premier League season.

The north London side have this week discovered who they will be facing when in the upcoming league campaign, with Arsenal kicking off the season at home to Wolves before facing away trips to Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester City.

With Arsenal fans mixed on the Gunners’ early fixtures, most supporters are confident heading into the new season given how impressive Mikel Arteta’s side were in the second-half of the last campaign, where the north London side dropped points in just two games in 2024.

And data has now suggested who is better off between Arsenal and City in the Premier League run-in.

Man City have the edge over Arsenal in the final ten Premier League games

As per Opta Analyst, City have the easiest final ten games of the upcoming Premier League season, with Pep Guardiola’s side facing just one side who finished in the top-seven last year in the English top-flight, that being Villa.

Whilst Arsenal’s run-in is also ranked as one of the easiest, the Gunners face a titanic penultimate game of the season away to Liverpool, a game the Gunners have not won in the Premier League in over a decade.

Indeed, whilst there’s no telling how both Arsenal and City will do next season with the new campaign not kicking off for another two months, these early findings make for uneasy reading for the north London side.

However, with the transfer window recently opened, the Gunners now know what needs to be done if they’re to bridge the gap between themselves and City, with new signings needed before the start of pre-season.

Fixture schedule should motivate Arsenal to build this summer

Arsenal’s fixtures are a double-edge sword for the Gunners, with the north London side tasked with tough opening opponents before a somewhat easy end to the new Premier League season.

And today’s announcement should give Arsenal all the motivation they need to add to their squad this summer, with a striker, central midfield and defender all believed to be on Arteta’s wishlist.

The Gunners know work needs to be done if they’re to catch up with City having come so close this season, and additions this summer will do just that, with Arsenal’s fate for the new campaign now known.
