Alan Shearer hails one Arsenal star as 'brilliant' after what he just did at Euro 2024

Alan Shearer has praised one Arsenal star after what he just did at Euro 2024 in Germany.

The Gunners have 11 players representing their nations at this summer’s competition, with Declan Rice already impressing for England, as William Saliba has also won plaudits for France last night against Austria.

Kai Havertz has also shone for the hosts Germany in the tournament opener against Scotland, and with so many representatives at the Euros, there’s a good chance that an Arsenal player could go all the way and win the entire tournament.

‘Brillliant’ Bukayo Saka praised after England win vs Serbia

Speaking on the Rest is Football, the Premier League noted expressed how impressed he was with Buyakyo Saka’s performance for England against Serbia, with the Arsenal winger assisting the only goal of the match.

Winning praise from the English media, Saka is expected to play a massive role for the Three Lions this summer, with the 22-year-old coming off his best season yet for Arsenal having scored 20 goals in all competitions.

And at the Euros, Saka is keeping his good club form up under Gareth Southgate, with the winger one of the star players on the weekend as the Arsenal attacker showed why he could be one of the biggest threats at this summer’s competition.

Shearer said when talking about Saka’s for England against Serbia on Sunday night: “I was impressed with Saka in the first-half, [he] was brilliant. I thought he was outstanding.”

Saka could lead England to international success at last

Having come so close to the Premier League title this year, Saka will want to end this season with silverware added to his growing trophy cabinet, and the Euros could provide just that.

England have one of the best squads at the competition this summer, and with Saka starring alongside Rice, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, there’s no reason why England can’t go all the way.

Indeed, football coming home would be quite the achievement for England this summer, and if it does happen, Saka will be at the heart of the success for the Three Lions out there in Germany.
