Joe Hart's class Instagram post after punditry bow following retirement at Celtic

Celtic are searching for a new goalkeeper this summer to compensate for the presence Joe Hart provided over the last three years at Parkhead.

The 37-year-old is now enjoying himself in retirement after signing off with a domestic double to his name, obtaining the photo finish his career richly deserved.

Hart has already begun the next venture of his life after departing the playing scene, taking up a high-profile punditry role with BBC Sport covering EURO 2024, where he made his debut on TV screens around the country for England’s 1-0 victory over Serbia on Sunday evening.

Speaking about what he hopes to achieve in his new career path, he stated last week: “The reason I wanted to get into punditry is to educate people who are interested in goalkeeping, and hopefully I can help people understand the position a bit better.”

Providing plenty of insight and a witty sense of humour, Hart excelled on his first outing in front of the cameras, and he has now taken to Instagram to share his thoughts on the experience.

Posting a selection of pictures from his evening at the Veltins-Arena, Hart accompanied the images by putting up a caption that read: ‘Enjoying the start to my new work life’ (with a smiling emoji attached).

England won on the night, but for most Celtic fans, the highlight would’ve been seeing the iconic figure in action. He certainly lived up to his billing with a charismatic performance on live TV.

Gary Lineker, Micah Richards, Cesc Fabregas and Rio Ferdinand were in the studio, providing a few light-hearted exchanges with the former Three Lions international that made for an entertaining watch. However, the result on the pitch didn’t suit my personal preference for the Scottish national side!

In all seriousness, Hart showed he could have a bright future in the punditry circuit. Premier League Productions are interested in having the Shrewsbury-born man on board for the coming season, so there may be plenty more opportunities to listen to his insight in the coming months.
