Report: Contract details emerge as Nottingham Forest prepare to sign 6ft 7in player

Carlos Miguel is on his way to Nottingham Forest and some more details have emerged about the transfer.

The giant of a goalkeeper is set to become the club’s first summer signing, checking in from Corinthians.

Forest have activated the £3.4 million release clause in Miguel’s contract and he will travel to England this week.

The Reds have been searching for a new goalkeeper to compete with Matz Sels during the 2024/25 campaign.

Matt Turner was extremely haphazard last season, whilst Odysseas Vlachodimos never really got going either.

Now, Miguel is nearing a move to the City Ground and some more details on his move have come to light.

Details of Carlos Miguel to Nottingham Forest now emerge

Forest are hoping to get this one over the line pretty sharpish to avoid being gazumped on the finish line.

Now Craque Neto has claimed that the player will sign a six-year contract at the City Ground.

This allows Forest to spread the cost of a sizeable wage and it looks like the club have taken a very modern approach with this deal.

Miguel will only cost a very modest £3.4 million and that in itself looks to be a real steal made by Forest.

The Reds bound star played for Corinthians against Sao Paulo over the weekend and made a ridiculously good save to preserve a point.

Forest could strike gold with Miguel signing

Forest’s situation with goalkeepers last season was nothing short of farcical.

As a result, it’s nice to see the club get this area of the pitch sorted and avoid letting it drag out like 12 months ago.

Miguel won’t have an easy run to the number one spot at the City Ground.

Sels was in fine form last season and he will fancy his chances of keeping the gloves on Trentside.

Miguel stands at 6ft 7in tall, however, and at 25-years-old he does feel more of a long-term option for Forest between the posts.

Hopefully, this signing can be more Murillo and less Gustavo Scarpa for Forest.

Nonetheless, it does feel like an addition to excited and hopefully Miguel can settle quickly at the club.
