Arsenal target Federico Chiesa could cost as little as £27m amid Bayern Munich links

The player in question is Federico Chiesa, who has been a hit for Juventus and Italy over the past few years.

Recent reports in Italy have claimed that Arsenal are among a host of sides interested in signing the Azzurri star this summer.

Now, Plettenberg has spoken to Sky Sports News about Chiesa, who is also on the radar of Bayern Munich and could cost as little as £27million.

“Juventus forward Federico Chiesa is on Bayern Munich’s shortlist for the summer transfer window,” he said.

“Bayern are monitoring the Italy international’s contractual situation closely as he enters the final year of his deal.

“Juventus are reportedly keen to extend Chiesa’s contract with talks planned after this summer’s Euros.

“Any deal for Chiesa is likely to cost between £27million and £35million.”

Who is Arsenal target Federico Chiesa?

Federico Chiesa is a versatile 26-year-old attacker who plays his club football for Juventus and represents Italy internationally.

He came through the ranks at Fiorentina before joining Juve in 2020 on an initial loan deal and signing permanently in 2022.

Chiesa has made 131 appearances for Juve, grabbing 34 goals and 25 assists, and has also won 48 caps for Italy.

Joe Cole said in 2021, as per Metro: “He’s hustling and bustling like a young Luis Suarez character. He can make something out of nothing.

“Every club in Europe will want a slice of him when he becomes available.”

Meanwhile, former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli told La Nazione in 2020, via Goal.com: “Chiesa must specialise in what he feels is his natural tactical position.

“If he does this, he will become the best player in Europe.”

Chiesa is certainly on the right track to become one of Europe’s best, and Arsenal will certainly have strong competition for his services.
