Everton interested in Euro 2024 star who is one of the best dribblers at the tournament - journalist

Everton are interested in signing a Euro 2024 who is one of the best dribblers at the tournament, according to a recent report.

Sean Dyche will be eager to drip into the transfer market this summer and he looks to assemble a squad capable of achieving a top-half finish.

The Toffees are expected to have a limited budget, though, meaning they’ll have to be clever with their business.

With that said, they’re eyeing a move for a player with one year left on his deal.

Everton eyeing Aster Vranckx

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Everton are eyeing a move for Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx this summer transfer window.

The 2002-born is currently away with Belgium at the Euros and was an unused substitute in their 1-0 defeat to Slovakia.

Vranckx is out of contract next year so the Bundesliga outfit may be forced to let him go on the cheap to avoid losing him on a free.

The Toffees face competition for his signature, with Serie A sides Napoli and Fiorentina also keeping tabs on his situation.

Aster Vranckx statistics

Vranckx can operate in a number of different positions, having played as a holding midfielder, a box-to-box and even as a number 10.

Some of the 21-year-old’s FBref statistics make for very impressive reading, as he sits in the top 12 per cent for progressive take-ons per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his terrific dribbling ability.

Further, he sits in the top seven per cent for clearances, amplifying how defensively aware he is, too.

If Everton do land his signature, it’d be a shrewd addition.
