Nottingham Forest set to sign 'electric' U17 World Cup winner who is a Jorge Mendes client - journalist

Nottingham Forest are going to be active in the summer transfer window it would seem and another signing might be close.

The Reds are set to land Carlos Miguel from Corinthians after John Percy claimed that the deal was edging ever closer.

Forest are also set to agree on a deal for New Zealand international Marko Stamenic – but he will join Olympiacos on loan for next season.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want to make sure his squad is boasting a little more quality next season as Forest bid to stabilise in the Premier League.

Now, it would seem as though Forest are getting closer to signing another player as they look to shape their squad once again.

Nottingham Forest want Eric da Silva Moreira

According to reputable Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Forest are set to complete the signing of the talented Eric da Silva Moreira.

It’s believed that the 18-year-old St. Pauli star is keen on a move to Forest and concrete talks have taken place.

The player is only going to cost around £1 million and the Reds might be able to get this one over the line pretty quickly.

Moreira won the under-17 World Cup with Germany and is also a client of the renowned superagent Jorge Mendes.

The talented winger made one appearance for St. Pauli in the German second tier last season having spent the season with the under-19s.

He scored four times in 14 games for the younger age group and would perhaps be considered as one for the future.

Moreira signing would represent clear shift in Forest strategy

This would be a brilliant signing on the face of things from a Forest perspective and ultimately, it would represent a shift in strategy.

Last season, Forest did pretty well in the transfer market – excluding the signings of their permanent goalkeepers and loan deals.

Moreira is young, has bags of potential and would sign for Forest on the cheap with lots of untapped potential left to unearth.

Scouted Football did a profile on the youngster and they called him ‘electric’, citing his ability to play on the wing or as a wing-back.

Forest could certainly use another option to compete with Neco Williams defensively on the right and Moreira looks like a useful addition.

The one negative – if we can call it that – is that he hasn’t played much men’s football.

However, Espirito Santo can give him that at Forest and Moreira fits the kind of profile that the club will hope to attract more often than not.

The Brighton recruitment model is one to admire and the addition of Moreira would represent a real step in the right direction.
