'Nicest guy I've ever met': Declan Rice says he absolutely loves £68m player Tottenham reportedly want to sign

Arsenal star Declan Rice has heaped praise on one player Tottenham Hotspur want to sign this summer.

Spurs are expected to be very active in this transfer window. They have already brought back Timo Werner on another loan deal, but that is just a start.

Tottenham need reinforcements in plenty of other positions, and they have been linked with quite a few names since the turn of 2024.

Rice really likes one player who is said to be very high on Tottenham’s list of targets.

Declan Rice says Tottenham target Eberechi Eze is the nicest guy ever

Eberechi Eze has been one of Crystal Palace’s best players since he joined them in the summer of 2020.

The 25-year-old is just a joy to watch. The way he glides past opposition players with the ball at his feet is as good as anyone else in the Premier League.

After a fine season at Palace where he scored 11 goals and provided six assists, Eze received a well-deserved call-up to the England squad for Euro 2024.

The versatile attacker didn’t play in the Three Lions’ opener against Serbia, but he is expected to get a chance at some point in the competition.

Everyone knows how good Eze is as a player, but it looks like the Crystal Palace star has made a positive impact off the pitch as well in the England camp.

Arsenal’s Rice, who is one of the most popular members of the national team, seems to have taken a real liking to Eze because he’s such a nice guy.

In a video on England’s social channels, Rice was asked to describe his international teammates using just one word.

When Eze’s name came up, the Arsenal man used more than just a word to heap praise on him.

“I think he’s the nicest guy I’ve ever met. So, I’m going to go to say ‘nice guy’,” Rice said.

How much Eze would cost as Tottenham schedule talks

Eze is a wanted man and a number of clubs are keeping an eye on him. Tottenham, however, seem the most serious.

Spurs have liked Eze for a long time, and it is widely expected that they will make a move to sign him from Crystal Palace in this window.

Reports revealed on Monday that Tottenham have scheduled a meeting this week to discuss the possibility of signing Eze.

Palace, however, will not make it easy for interested clubs. The Daily Mail claim that Eze has a release clause in his contract worth £60 million plus add-ons worth around £8 million.

If Tottenham want to sign Eze, they will have to be ready to pay £68 million this summer. Whether Daniel Levy would be prepared to do that remains to be seen.
