'An exceptional talent': Phil Foden says he really enjoys playing with one player at England

Phil Foden has revealed that there is one player in the England squad that he enjoys playing with.

Foden is accustomed to playing with top players at Manchester City but the same is the case at England.

It could be argued that the Three Lions have the best starting XI out of any team in world football.

As a result, Manchester City’s number 47 perhaps does not experience a major decline in quality when he enters the England camp.

Phil Foden shares how his link-up with Jude Bellingham is

The 24-year-old would be hoping to win the European Championship with his country in July.

Having won every possible trophy in club football, the Englishman would be looking to conquer the international stage.

For that to occur, the Manchester City midfielder will have to establish strong connections with his teammates on the pitch.

Speaking to England’s in-house media, Foden revealed that he enjoys playing with Bellingham; stating their link-up play is getting better.

The six-time Premier League winner said: “Jude’s [Bellingham] obviously an exceptional talent. I think he carries himself really well, he’s a leader now, he’s turned into a leader.”

“I think our link-up play is good at times and it’s improving as well and it can keep getting better so he’s an exciting talent and I enjoy playing with him.”

Good news for England if Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham are gaining a better understanding

For England to go far at Euro 2024, Foden and Bellingham will have to strike a dangerous partnership in the middle of the park.

So far, it seems like the connection between the pair on the pitch has room for improvement.

During the Three Lions’ 1-0 win against Serbia, Foden and Bellingham did not seem like they were on the same wavelength.

Often, the Real Madrid midfielder would get on the ball, with the treble-winner demanding him to pass it in his direction.

However, Bellingham often did not choose to do so, as Foden seemed frustrated.

But it is natural that two players who only play with each other at international level are experience growing pains with their partnership.

As the tournament progresses, Foden and Bellingham will gain a better understanding of each other and when that occurs, England’s chances of winning the competition will certainly strengthen.
