This smart ring just got upgraded to better rival Samsung and Oura

It’s typical for tech companies to release new generations of products, but Circular has relaunched the Ring Slim with a new and improved recipe without giving it a new name.

The smart ring was launched last year but instead of getting the Ring Slim 2, a new 2024 version is here with upgraded features and a more durable design.

Circular’s Ring Slim already claims to be the world’s thinnest and lightest smart ring, but these upgrades will help it compete with the likes of the Oura Ring Gen 3, Samsung Galaxy Ring and Ultrahuman Ring Air.

For starters, the Slim now features an improved scratch-resistant coating and now has a full IP68 rating meaning it’s fully dust and waterproof.

The latest iteration of the wearable uses an ‘advanced algorithm’ for heart rate during sport meaning you can get a more precise reading of your heart rate during activity. This data can then be synced up with the new Sport Session Circle on the updated Kira+ app.

Advanced Analysis Circle is another new feature which gives a holistic view of health and wellness. The idea being you can view and compare all your data in one intuitive graph to identify trends and make informed decisions.

Sleep tracking has also received significant attention with a major algorithm change and includes heart rate, breathing rate, Sp02, temperature, and motion tracking. It means the Ring Slim offers 79% accuracy against Polysomnography tests.

Whether all this is enough to compete with the big names of the smart ring market remains to be seen but I’ve got a sample so look out for the full review soon.

The new Circular Ring Slim for 2024 is available now from the official store priced at £226/$281/€259.
