Report: Manchester United will have to pay £35m to sign 'aggressive and fast' Luke Shaw replacement this summer

Manchester United have now been told exactly how much they will have to pay to sign one top target this summer.

This summer hasn’t gotten off to the greatest of starts for Manchester United, with no deal looking imminent or close to being completed.

Despite a lack of finalisation, it appears as though Erik ten Hag‘s squad will be bolstered with some impressive targets being lined up and bid for.

As of now, Jarrad Branthwaite and Joao Neves look likely. Meanwhile, in terms of a striker Joshua Zirkzee is the most likely amid reports of a bid being prepared.

Now, the asking price for one target has been revealed and it’s more than reasonable.

Manchester United target Milos Kerkez’s value

In a bid to strengthen the defence this summer, Manchester United have been linked with several central defenders, while full-backs are also on the cards.

Of all the options, it appears as though Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is favoured as a possible Luke Shaw successor, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that United are keen.

Now according to GiveMeSport, his valuation has been revealed. The Cherries are facing interest in Kerkez not only from United but also Chelsea and just a year after they spent £15.5m on him, they look set to more than double their money.

The report explains that Bournemouth values Kerkez at around £35m, a figure which is reasonable for a potentially starting-level left-back, considering how unreliable Shaw is fitness-wise.

Bournemouth do not want to sell Kerkez, however, chances are if their price tag is met, they will be inclined to let him depart.

What Milos Kerkez will bring to Manchester United

Signing the 20-year-old Hungarian international Kerkez would effectively replace Shaw, considering the pair boast similar traits and a similar style of play.

It would also bridge the gap between Shaw and the emerging Harry Amass who in three or four years could very easily be United’s starting left-back.

Kerkez is an excellent full-back who has been lauded by his national team coach.

“In a good sense, Milos is a particularly aggressive and fast player, so I don’t think he’ll have any problems with the style of play typical of the Premier League. The English Premier League has a much more physical style than that of the Dutch, but this won’t cause him any problems,” Marco Rossi said as per MLSZ.

Aggressive and fast is exactly what he’s shown in his opening campaign at Bournemouth, with his defensive output highly impressive.

Kerkez is tenacious and has been praised for the fact he gives absolutely everything to his team when playing.

Kerkez is less creative on the ball than Shaw, but that’s something which may come with age. However, his defensive traits are already very impressive and we are inclined to think he is an incredible pick-up for United this summer.
