‘Hilarious’: Declan Rice says one Man City player is so funny behind the scenes

Declan Rice has said that one Manchester City player is so funny away from the pitch.

Having made his Premier League debut back in 2017 and his England debut in 2019, the Arsenal midfielder has shared the dressing room with a significant number of top players.

At club level, the Englishman has faced off against City on 14 occasions in total across all competitions, losing nine of them.

Now that the 25-year-old is in the middle of the 2024 European Championship with the rest of his England teammates, he has taken the time to share his thoughts on one in particular, who will be very well-known to a lot of City supporters.

Declan Rice says Man City player is one of the funniest in the England squad

In a recent post shared on the official England TikTok channel, Rice was asked to sum up all of his England teammates with just one word for each of them.

When John Stones’ name came up, the Arsenal star used the term “hilarious” to describe the defender.

On the international stage, the pair have played alongside each other in 29 games for the Three Lions, their most recent match together being Sunday’s 1-0 win over Serbia where they both completed the full 90 minutes.

Stones’ personality could be a big morale booster in the England camp

Rice isn’t the first England player to speak about Stones’ personality in glowing terms recently, as Jordan Pickford described him as a “top lad” last week.

Since City paid £47m to sign the centre-back from Everton back in 2016, the 30-year-old has made 257 appearances in all competitions.

Across those games, Stones has chipped in with 16 goals and seven assists, lifting a lot of domestic and European trophies along the way.

With Rice now highlighting how funny the City defender is, it’s clear that he appreciates having this sort of personality in the England squad during this latest tournament.
