Twenty of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class are in Los Angeles this week for the Elite 11 Finals, and the prestigious event kicked off on Tuesday night. Representing Notre Dame is Lucedale (Miss.) George County’s Deuce Knight, who ranks as the nation’s No. 54 overall player and No. 7 quarterback per the On3 Industry Ranking.
The 6-4.5, 208-pound southpaw had a strong Day 1 performance at the Elite 11. The quarterbacks went through various stations of drills, and Knight showed out.
He was On3’s No. 4 overall performer for the evening.
“On a field alongside the majority of the top quarterbacks in the cycle, Deuce Knight’s physical talent popped,” wrote On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power. “He showed one of the strongest arms on hand. Knight was able to generate velocity without strain. The ball came out of his hand cleanly with zip.
“This was the most comfortable we’ve seen the Irish commit look in a camp setting to this point. While there were some misfires from time to time, the improvement Knight has made since February is easily noticeable. He’s arguably the top athlete at the position in the 2025 cycle and looks to be ascending as a passer. The next two days will be provide another telling litmus test.”
Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet was named the top overall performer. Ohio State’s Tavien St. Clair and Alabama’s Keelon Russell ranked directly ahead of Knight, respectively. And behind the Irish commit rounding out the top performers were the following: Florida State’s Tramell Jones, uncommitted signal-caller Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, Miami’s Luke Nickel, North Carolina’s Bryce Baker, Missouri’s Matt Zollers, USC’s Julian Lewis and Iowa State’s Alex Manske.

It is a ‘blessing’ for Notre Dame 4-star QB commit Deuce Knight to be in the Elite 11 Finals
Knight grew up watching the Elite 11 Finals, and this week, he’s a participant in it.
Knight is excited to follow in the footsteps of Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrenceand Tua Tagovailoaamong others he grew up watching. Now he gets to compete against some of the top players at his position in the 2025 cycle and the Notre Damecommit feels like it is a “blessing” to take part in the event.
“I am from Mississippi, so it is far from home, but I get to go to California and get coached up by some great guys with a lot of experience,” Knight told On3. “I will be beside some of the best guys in the country and I know a lot of them. It will be cool to be around George MacIntyre, K.J. Lacey, Julian Lewis and some others that I call friends. They are great quarterbacks. They do great things. I will get a chance to learn from them like I do the coaches. I want to take it all in, be around great guys and get better.”
Knight is hoping to improve as a quarterback during the Elite 11 Finals, as well as grow as a person. The No. 3 player in Mississippi wants to have fun and build relationships this week, but at the same time, showcase his talent.
“It’s cool how they have all of us in one place doing the same things. While competing and getting better, we will get to know each other too,” said Knight. “We will be working and learning, but at the same time, going head-to-head to be the top guy. It is exciting to think about it. I get to go out there amongst the best and see how I do. We all worked to get here, so we all want to go out there and win.”
