Five-star DL Justus Terry decommits from USC

Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry announced his decommitment from USC on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound interior lineman joined the 2025 USC recruiting class in late March following a strong unofficial visit. It came as a big surprise when he flipped from the hometown Georgia Bulldogs. But Georgia never gave up in his recruitment, and several other big-time programs continued to chase the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect. It was always going to be tough for USC to hold onto his commitment until signing day and the official decommitment came today.

Terry will take an official visit to Alabama this weekend rather than the planned trip to USC, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.

It’s the second decommitment from a five-star lineman in as many days. Fellow Georgia prospect Isaiah Gibson, a five-star edge and the nation’s No. 27 prospect, announced his decommitment from USC on Tuesday.

Those were the top two defensive commitments in the class and the Trojans still have a battle on their hands for the new top defensive commitment in four-star safety Hylton “Drake” Stubbs, who is a major Florida target and coming off a strong official visit to the Gators.

USC hopes to load up on high school defensive linemen in this class but at this point it’s unlikely they’ll get back into the mix for those two decommitments. The Trojans hold commitments from local four-star edge Hayden Lowe and three-star defensive end Gus Cordova.
