Arsenal fans had a lot to say about Kai Havertz after Germany v Hungary at Euro 2024

Arsenal fans have given their verdict of the performance that Kai Havertz just produced for Germany v Hungary at Euro 2024.

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz lead the line for Germany against Hungary on Wednesday.

The German retained his place in the starting XI for the host nation’s second game of Euro 2024, having found the back of the net from the penalty spot in their opening fixture against Scotland.

Havertz impressed impressed Arsenal fans with his display against the Scots, and looks full of confidence right now.

The 25-year-old has every right to be brimming with self-belief, having enjoyed an impressive maiden campaign with the Gunners. Since Mikel Arteta unleashed him as a striker for the North London club around the turn of the year, he has gone from strength to strength.

Havertz is coming off the back of his best ever season in front of goal in English football, and is providing a real threat for his country at this tournament. He offered some excellent movement in the first half, and drew a great save out of the Hungarian goalkeeper with an effort from close range.

Arsenal fans react to Kai Havertz’s showing for Germany v Hungary at 2024

Many Arsenal fans took to X to praise Havertz for his showing in this match.

One supporter said: “Mikel Arteta has really transformed Kai Havertz, once he improves on his finishing he’ll be unstoppable.”

Another, perhaps somewhat overexcited fan, stated: “Kai Havertz is single handedly carrying this Germany team!”

One claimed: “Havertz lifting the Euros then coming back and scoring 5 in our first 5 would be fire.”

Another observed: “havertz playing the same role as for arsenal. dropping deep, pulling defenders out of shape to create space for the wingers and late runs from the attacking midfielder. sensational!”

Do Arsenal need a new striker to support Havertz?

The Gunners are seemingly in the market for a new striker in this summer transfer window. Arsenal were keen to bring Benjamin Sesko to the Emirates Stadium before he opted to pen a new deal with RB Leipzig.

Arteta will surely now pivot to alternative targets, but whatever happens in terms of arrivals in that part of the pitch, that berth as the club’s starting centre-forward is surely now Havertz’s to lose.
