‘What a talent’: Chris Sutton raves about £21m player Tottenham want to sign after Euro 2024 display

Chris Sutton has raved about a player who is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

With just four Spurs players at Euro 2024, Ange Postecoglou will have plenty of time to keep an eye on potential transfer targets in Germany.

The likes of Eberechi Eze, Nico Williams and Sebastian Szymanski are all reportedly on Tottenham’s radar and competing at the tournament.

But a player who Spurs previously missed out on to Real Madrid has impressed Chris Sutton.

Sutton raves about Tottenham target Arda Guler

Spurs were reportedly keen on Arda Guler before the youngster completed a switch to the Bernabeu from Fenerbahce for £21 million last summer.

That interest hasn’t faded after Guler has struggled for regular game time under Carlo Ancelotti.

Indeed, Spurs were linked with a possible summer swoop for Guler back in February.

The 19-year-old was in action for Turkey at the Euros on Tuesday and netted a stunning effort from range in a 3-1 victory over Georgia.

After an eye-catching display from the Madrid starlet, Sutton was full of praise for the youngster while speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off! Podcast.

“A couple of young Turkish players really caught the eye, Guler especially, he said. “The goal he scored… I mean, he looks about 12 years old. What a talent he is.

“I actually didn’t realise this, I should’ve known this, he was on the bench for the Champions League final for Real Madrid. Never got on but looks a super talent.

“Reading up about he’s had a bit of a stop start season but blimey, for one so young to pop a goal in like that.”

Guler’s stats vs Georgia

Guler has obvious talent and it’s easy to see why Madrid moved to snap up the youngster last year.

Whether or not he could be on the move this summer remains to be seen after he made just 12 appearances under Ancelotti last term.

Spurs will surely be keeping a keen eye on his progress and Guler’s Euros debut would have likely impressed them.
