WWE Intercontinental champion Sami Zayn shows his Celtic colours as he explains new career shift

It’s been a strange week for the Celtic fans in terms of the club being connected to different sports.

The obvious link to the most obvious sport is that of the Celtic players and their participation in Euro 2024 with Steve Clarke’s Scotland.

The 1-1 draw with Switzerland in Cologne keeps Scotland within touching distance of qualifying from the group stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history and four Celtic players are at the heart of that.

However, Celtic have been linked to another sport and it is one I never thought would ever be possible.

Sami Zayn’s Celtic shout out

Last weekend we discussed how WWE legend CM Punk took in a post-fight press conference decked in a Celtic training kit after getting involved and stopping, Rangers supporting Drew McIntyre’s attempt to win the Clash of the Castles at the Hyrdo.

Celtic tweeted a superb message about CM Punk’s involvement in that and went down a storm with the Hoops support.

Well, it seems that WWE superstar and Intercontinental champion, Sami Zayn, has also declared his allegiance to Celtic after holding an interview where he explains why he’s taking on a new role in comedy:

The show that Zayn is taking part in, Sami Zayn & Friends Do Toronto, will be part of WWE’s massive Money In The Bank weekend which is being held on the 4th of July.

Celtic’s connection to the WWE has been a source of great excitement amongst the Celtic fans and Zayn’s latest interview decked in Celtic gear will undoubtedly be extremely popular once again within the Parkhead support.

If anything, the recent chatter surrounding the WWE in Glasgow and its wrestling superstars has been a brilliant distraction for the Celtic fans who will be missing watching their team each week in the Scottish Premiership.
