'Nonsense': Steve Tosh fuming after what he's been hearing about Celtic player at Euro 2024

As Scotland looks forward to Sunday’s potential history-making game against Hungary on Sunday, the debate online about Celtic defender, Anthony Ralston’s performances seems to be ramping up.

The 5-1 defeat to Germany brought a lot of heat onto Celtic captain, Callum McGregor which was aided and abetted by the comments of former Rangers manager, Graeme Souness.

After Celtic responded that last on X, it seems now that there is a narrative building against another Hoops player after Scotland’s creditable draw against Switzerland.

Anthony Ralston seems to be the fall guy after a misplaced pass allowed Switzerland striker, Shaqiri, to carve out an incredible finish to equalise which ensured a share of the spoils.

Anthony Ralston ‘nonsense’ called out

Former Aberdeen midfielder, Steve Tosh, was none too happy with what he was reading about the Celtic defender online and posted his thoughts on the ‘nonsense’ he has seen on X.

It seems that there is a growing narrative amongst certain fans in the Tartan Army that just can’t wait to have a pop at both Celtic players and Tosh went further and added, “No one is arguing RWB is an issue.

“However with the injuries in that position then we have very little options.”

Ralston is a good, reliable defender and the type of mistake we saw last night, although it wasn’t completely his fault, is extremely rare for the Celtic defender.

The Scotland defender has good experience playing at the top level for Celtic and his country and has already proven, especially after his performance against the Netherlands last month, that he can cope with the demands of playing against the best players in the world.

I am positive Ralston will be desperate for Sunday night’s game to come along so he can prove to his doubters what he is all about and ram the social media criticism down their throats.
