Ilkay Gundogan is a seriously big fan of a player who Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing.
Gundogan made headlines on Wednesday at Euro 2024, as he got on the score sheet in Germany’s 2-0 win over Hungary in their second group stage match.
Gundogan, captaining the side, was hailed on social media after the game by his former City teammate Jack Grealish, who branded him ‘one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with’.
Germany have looked great so far, although sterner tests will definitely come for them later in the tournament.
They are now into the last 16 having won their opening two games, and one man who has shone in both matches is Jamal Musiala.
Musiala is a player Manchester City are thought to be interested in, and he is a player rated very highly rated indeed by ex-City skipper Gundogan.

Musiala is currently the top goalscorer at Euro 2024 having scored two goals, against Scotland and Hungary.
The Bayern Munich man was majestic in the opening game against the Scots, and he dazzled once again against Hungary on Wednesday, and his market value will have probably gone up now as a result.
Musiala plays with a real slickness. He is an excellent ball-carrier and technician, and must be very nice to share the field with.
Gundogan certainly thinks that, as he said about him after the win over Hungary (via iNews): “It is a joy to play with him.
“Someone who can do the unexpected, such a difference-maker for our team, maybe the most important one for us, and at such a young age.
“Giving the final pass and scoring goals is important.
“He is such a nice guy, very humble and if he keeps playing like he is now he can become one of the best.”
Musiala would be an incredible signing
Musiala has been so impressive for Germany in their first two games at Euro 2024, but it should come as no surprise.
The 21-year-old is already one of the best midfielders in the world, and is certainly comparable to England’s Jude Bellingham, who many feel is right up with the best.
£90,000-a-week star Musiala is said to be on City’s radar. It was reported in April that the club have wondered whether he might be buyable this summer.
At this point, you would be hard-pressed to find a City fan who wouldn’t want to see Musiala gracing the Etihad turf. The youngster is a wonderful player who is also versatile, and he could absolutely thrive under Pep Guardiola.
It’s also worth pointing out that he is an international teammate of City legend Gundogan. So Musiala is bound to have learned a lot, from a player many City fans thought was – and still think is – absolutely quality.
