'A serious option': Chelsea have made enquiries this week to sign 'incredible' £15m player - journalist

It sounds like Chelsea have decided to flick a switch and ramp up their interest in signing a £15m summer transfer target.

Chelsea’s window is certainly up and running as the speculation increases on a daily basis.

The Blues have already confirmed the signing of defender Tosin Adarabioyo, 26, on a free transfer.

Elsewhere, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via Playback on Wednesday that Chelsea are ‘obsessed’ with the idea of signing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and are the favourites to land him.

It’s going to be interesting to see how many new faces will be in Enzo Maresca’s squad next season.

Chelsea make enquiries about £15m player

Journalist Simon Phillips has reported via his Substack on Thursday that Chelsea have “seriously looked” at Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy as a potential target.

It is explained that the Bundesliga star has a £15m release clause in his deal and Blues interest in him could yet ignite.

Phillips has described Guirassy as “a serious option” for Chelsea this week. In fact, the Premier League side have now made enquiries about the striker.

Guirassy, who’s 28, has received some tentative links to Stamford Bridge recently. It’s quite significant that there’s now been contact regarding the Guinea international, though.

This comes after Bild claimed that Chelsea are competing with Arsenal, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund to sign Guirassy. He’s also ‘unlikely’ to stay at Stuttgart for next season.

Serhou Guirassy a potential super bargain

Guirassy’s price tag of £15m could make him the bargain of the summer for any buyer.

The centre-forward scored a remarkable 30 goals in 30 games last season for Stuttgart across all competitions.

When you compare his price to some of Chelsea’s other targets, he suddenly becomes very appealing.

The fact he scored 28 league goals last season in Germany’s top division is a serious indicator of his quality. It’s certainly looks like the 28-year-old has started to hit his peak.

Described as “incredible” by Chris Fuhrich (Bundesliga’s website), Guirassy could be the right blend of experience to dovetail nicely with Nicolas Jackson for Chelsea’s striker position next year.
