‘Definitely’: Tosh McKinlay urges Celtic to sign striker who’s ‘got the credentials’ for Parkhead move

With all the majority of the Celtic fans’ attention being taken up by Euro 2024, the small matter of the lack of transfer business by the club doesn’t seem to be worrying the support.

Despite the need for a new goalkeeper and reinforcements up front and in defence, there is a kind of calm tranquillity amongst the support as the big European tournament rumbles on.

And I’m not even taking into account the players that could need to be replaced after recent reports indicate that interest in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Matt O’Riley continues.

Indeed, there is no need for panic as there is plenty of time, and money, for Brendan Rodgers to make his moves but there is one that Tosh McKinlay reckons is a no-brainer that Celtic must complete.

Adam Idah has ‘absolutely shown’ he’s worthy of Celtic move

The former Celtic defender was waxing lyrical about Adam Idah and McKinlay believes that he has more than proved he is worthy of a move to Paradise.

McKinlay said [Daily Record], “Adam’s absolutely shown he’s of the standard required at Celtic. If you look at the games he started, he did the business.

“He also came on in the Cup Final to grab the winning goal so he’s definitely got the credentials to play for Celtic.

“We lost Giorgos Giakoumakis who gave us a different option up front. But bringing Adam in gave us again that presence up front.

“Kyogo likes to get across the front, stretch teams, while Adam is more about holding the ball up and bringing others into play – plus he can get you a goal. So he gives us that different dimension.”

Idah was an excellent piece of temporary business by Celtic in January and it could be argued that the addition of the Norwich City striker saved Brendan Rodgers’ season.

Celtic have been told on numerous occasions that the Republic of Ireland striker should be a priority this summer.

Let’s hope that moves are already being made to sign the striker as, like McKinaly, I also believe he has proved that he has what it takes to be a success at Celtic.
