Report: Euro 2024 star Arsenal want can now leave PL rival for over £40m after disagreements with his manager

Arsenal are considering a move for one Premier League player at Euro 2024, amid claims that he wants to leave his current side in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are definitely going to be one side to watch in the summer, with Mikel Arteta looking for the signings which are going to take his side over the line in the title race after coming close on two previous occasions.

One area which perhaps proved to be a bit of an Achilles heel for Arsenal last year was left-back, with Jurrien Timber spending the large majority of the season on the sidelines due to injury.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has come in for a lot of criticism, while Jakub Kiwior did have his limitations. And it seems that the Gunners are targeting another Premier League player as they look to potentially strengthen in that position.

The report notes that Kerkez – who is also wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea – has had disagreements with Andoni Iraola, who has concerns about the tactical side of his game. And thus, he is available for more than £40 million this summer.

Gunners fans may be concerned

Arsenal fans may be a little alarmed by Iraola’s reported concerns about Kerkez’s game, given that they are probably going to have to be nearly flawless if they are going to finish above Manchester City next season.

But the Hungarian is only 20 years of age, so there is so much time for the youngster to improve further, and Arteta has already gained a track record for helping prospects realise their potential.

It is a big fee to pay for someone who has only enjoyed one year in the Premier League, and that may put Arsenal off considering the options they already have.

But if the Gunners feel that his discontent on the south coast presents a really good opportunity, then perhaps they will seriously consider stepping up their interest.
