Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing about Ben White after England 1-1 Denmark at Euro 2024

Arsenal supporters have raised the subject of Ben White after England stumbled to a 1-1 draw against Denmark at Euro 2024.

England were far from their best on Thursday as they played their second group game of Euro 2024.

Harry Kane put the Three Lions ahead from close range with 18 minutes on the clock, but after that moment Gareth Southgate’s side retreated into their shell.

Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were both included in the England starting XI, but neither could inspire their nation to victory.

Arsenal fans felt that Saka showed glimpses of promise and attacking intent. Ultimately, though, England were too negative and conservative as a team to make the most of the Hale End academy graduate’s presence on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Southgate’s tactics mean that Rice can’t shine as bright for England as he does for Arsenal. At the Emirates Stadium, the 25-year-old has been unshackled by Mikel Arteta, but his influence has been curbed on the international stage.

England may well have benefitted from the presence of Ben White at this tournament. However, the Arsenal right-back withdrew himself from international consideration earlier in the season.

It has been speculated that White had a fractious relationship with Southgate and his coaching staff, which contributed to his decision to turn his back on the opportunity to play for his country.

Many Arsenal fans now feel that White did himself a favour by refusing to play for Southgate, as their own frustrations with the England manager grow.

One supporter said: “So funny how Ben White would improve England instantly.”

Another stated: “The only person who came out of today with any credit is Ben White.”

One fan chipped in with: “I can see why Ben White dont want to play for this manager. The subs have made us worse.”

One added: “The best decision England-related has been Ben White’s choice to not dare risk is solid reputation under this Three Lions management.”
