CPAC boss Matt Schlapp taunted a reporter at The Daily Beast on Thursday amid news of mass layoffs at the publication -- but the reporter was quick to hit back hard.

In a tweet posted on Thursday evening, Schlapp reacted to reports of layoffs at The Daily Beast by writing, "Life’s a real b---h" before tagging senior political reporter Roger Sollenberger.

Sollenberger, who has written extensively on sexual misconduct claims leveled against Schlapp, responded by dropping hints about further scandals that he had yet to officially report.

"Heard about your wedding," Sollenberger wrote cryptically. "Heard about the DC parties in the 90s. Heard about the Meatpacking District. Why didn’t you run for Senate in 2020? I can keep going."

Sollenberger then suggested that Schlapp is playing a dangerous game by mocking reporters who have spent years trying to track down rumors about his alleged bad behavior.

"Matt is saying this knowing full well what was in our first comment request and apparently does not give a damn about the restraint we’ve shown him," he wrote.

Schlapp and his wife, Mercedes Schlapp, have been on a crusade against The Daily Beast ever since it first broke news that a former staffer for failed GOP candidate Herschel Walker's campaign accused him of grabbing his crotch.

"The Daily Beast is Satan’s publication to persecute Christians and their families," Mercedes Schlapp declared at one point.
