Chieveley Fete is back soon — with a new venue

Chieveley’s traditional annual fete is returning later this month.

The fete will be held on Sunday, June 23, from 2pm to 5pm at the Recreation Ground, since Chieveley Manor is no longer available as a venue.

Chieveley Fete returns this year

Organisers are promising a “bigger and better fete”, with a range of artisan stalls and attractions for all age groups, including swingboats, a carousel, stocks, trampolines, live brass music, a tombola, bouncy castles and a cave activity.

And new this year is the dog show, being run by Rosie’s Pet Care, and a classic car and motorbike display.

Dogs can be entered into categories on the day.

A tug of war session will round off the afternoon.

All proceeds from the event will go to St Mary’s Church, Chieveley; The Downs School, Compton; Berkshire Youth; and Chieveley Cricket Club.

Visitor parking will be available on The Green opposite The Rec. Disabled parking will be at the village hall. Marshals will be on hand to supervise.

Dogs on leads are welcome. No bikes or scooters please.
