Manchester United fans are making £85.2m comparison after watching latest Harry Amass clip

Harry Amass is one player in the Manchester United academy that fans are very excited by, and now he’s been compared with a world-class player.

For Manchester United right now, the academy is in the best place it has been in years and already Erik ten Hag is reaping the rewards of the investment in signing prospects.

Last season Willy Kambwala featured toward the end, while Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were regulars in the starting line-up.

But there is a thinking that we haven’t even begun to see how much talent is in the academy right now, with the likes of Harry Amass, Shea Lacey and Amir Ibragimov all tipped for the very top.

Now, Amass has released a training clip which has blown fans away and led to one major comparison being made to an £85.2m player.

Manchester United fans claim Harry Amass could be the next Gareth Bale

Following on from Ibragimov posting a training clip earlier this week, now Amass has done his own and it’s impressed fans.

Posted on F7 Coaching’s Instagram, Amass can be seen doing shooting drills in training and his skill here has left fans making one comparison.

One supporter wrote: “Can he be our Gareth Bale?”, in relation to Amass being a left-footed left-back who has remarkable finishing, much like a young Bale before he emerged as a talented winger.

A second joined in with these comparisons: “Gareth Bale style left back by the looks of it”.

Amass’ ball-striking ability continued to impress other fans too: “That’s a LB… got a proper strike on him”.

One pondered what could be if he were to add goals to his game: “If he can become a goal threat…”

“Harry Amass getting ready for next season in what could be his breakthrough season. His shooting technique is so good you’d think he’s a winger”, wrote another fan account.

A further fan even suggested that Amass be trialled during the pre-season tour in the USA next month: “Let Harry Amass cook in pre-season”.

Why has Amass been compared with Bale?

We all know Amass is a superb talent and it’s no shock that Luke Shaw selected him as the most exciting talent he’s seen.

But he’s a left-back and Bale will go down as one of the best wingers of the 21st century to date, so where does the comparison stem from?

Well, prior to Bale tearing up full-backs, he was a full-back being torn apart regularly and at one stage he went on a 24-game unbeaten streak which even prompted Sir Alex Ferguson to warn Harry Redknapp not to play him due to his bad luck.

But Redknapp saw something in Bale and moved him to the wing where he never looked back and became the five-time Champions League winner.

Therefore Amass’ talent in forward positions has prompted fans to make the link.
