Big-name acts will close out N.J.’s massive North 2 Shore festival; Mosaic is your guide

Mosaic is showcasing all that North 2 Shore has to offer with wall-to-wall coverage.

The third week of the North 2 Shore Festival begins Monday with some of the best entertainers in the nation flocking to New Jersey. In addition, dozens of free concerts with local artists will be scattered throughout Newark this week.

This massive three-week undertaking by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center that began in Asbury Park and continued this week in Atlantic City, will close out in Newark with big-time national acts, including Kevin Hart, Matchbox Twenty, Jeezy and Gabriel Iglesias. But the strength of the festival is in the hundreds of other performances by artists from our own backyard.

Mosaic, New Jersey Advance Media’s new website with a mission to celebrate the richness of the state’s diverse cultures, is showcasing all that North To Shore has to offer with wall-to-wall coverage. We’ve written extensively about the flurry of musicians, dancers, comedians, and other festival artists, including stories about Grammy-winner Samara Joy and her return to her roots at NJPAC and about Frankie Valli’s passion for performing despite his age.

And with so many acts to consider, each week we’ll pick a few performances as Mosaic’s Pick of the Week. Typically, the events we select are fun, educational and free.

If you’ve missed some of the coverage, you can stillfind it on Mosaic. But here are some of the highlights:
