The United States is discussing how to continue to help Ukraine's defense industry, says Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass.

Bass reminded that air defense is now a top priority for Ukraine, and Washington is focused on it. But American support is not limited to this issue.

The Under Secretary of State added that the US was having a serious and intense conversation about how they could continue to help Ukrainian industry produce the necessary weapons here in Ukraine.

In February, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said that the Ukrainian defense industry had grown sixfold in 2023.

According to him, the defense industry consists of 500 companies that are engaged not only in the production but also in the repair and maintenance of weapons in Ukraine.

Ukraine is also already producing weapons in cooperation with Western defense companies. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already discussed the start of such production with American companies.
