'Very important decision': 'Outstanding' Spurs player says he'll soon speak to N17 hierarchy amid reports he could leave

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to have a busy summer on the transfer front, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League table last season, a decent return in Ange Postecoglou’s first season compared to the woeful 2022/23 campaign.

However, Tottenham were hoping to finish fourth, so they’ll need to increase their squad’s strength in depth this summer in order to kick on.

Likewise, Spurs are likely to have several outgoings, with a number of players appearing to be surplus to requirements at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One of those players is defender Emerson Royal, who has long been linked with a move away from Spurs.

The 25-year-old full-back is said to be on the radar of Italian giants AC Milan, Brazilian side Flamengo, and the Saudi Pro League.

Now, Emerson has spoken out about his future, in conversation with Brazilian outlet UOL.

Emerson Royal expects Tottenham meeting in next few days

Emerson revealed that he will be having a meeting with the Spurs hierarchy in the coming days, once he returns from vacation. He admitted that he will be making a “very important decision”.

“I asked my managers not to talk to me about these issues for now because I’m on vacation, I recently got married and I want to enjoy this moment,” he said.

“In the next few days, I’ll have to have a meeting with them because it’s a very important decision that I’ll have to make now.”

Emerson Royal unlikely to stay at Tottenham

Although Ange Postecoglou praised Emerson earlier this season, lauding his “outstanding” attitude and demeanour as per football.london, he sadly hasn’t kicked on at Tottenham.

Emerson is certainly a talented player, hence the speculation linking him with the likes of AC Milan, who seem particularly keen on him.

If all goes well, he will be on the move this summer in a deal that would no doubt be a win for all parties.

Tottenham get a player surplus to requirements off their wage bill and recoup some money, Milan get a talented full-back with years ahead of him, and the player himself gets to kickstart his career.
