Exclusive: Liverpool have decided against making move for 'electric' 21-goal forward this summer

Liverpool are likely to be busy in the coming weeks as the club’s hierarchy looks to bolster the squad ahead of a big season.

The Reds are at the beginning of a new era in wake of Jurgen Klopp leaving Anfield and Arne Slot taking over in the Premier League club’s dugout.

Liverpool will be eager to give Slot all the tools he needs to hit the ground running, and there have been links with numerous top players.

However, the transfer situation is likely to be fluid, with targets and priorities set to change for every club as the summer draws on.

Indeed, Liverpool have now dropped their interest in one of their attacking targets, a 21-goal speedster who has been deemed ‘electric’.

Liverpool decide against Crysencio Summerville move

TBR Football understands that Liverpool have decided against pursuing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the Dutch forward, who has impressed at Elland Road in the past 12-months.

However, sources have confirmed to TBR that whilst they have watched him – The Reds won’t be pursuing Summerville.

Summerville has this week been the subject of an approach from Brighton & Hove Albion – who are open to a £30million deal to land him.

Who is Crysencio Summerville?

Crysencio Summerville is a 22-year-old winger who has made a real name for himself at Leeds United after joining from Feyenoord in 2020.

The Dutchman initially joined the Whites’ youth team, but it didn’t take long for him to become a first-team regular.

Summerville has made 89 competitive senior appearances for the Whites, registering 25 goals and 12 assists.

The 22-year-old – who Beren Cross of Leeds Live has deemed “electric” – really came to the fore last season, with 21 goals and 10 assists from 49 outings in all competitions.

Summerville’s efforts for Leeds in the Championship saw him awarded the league’s Player of the Season accolade in April.

As per The Express, Summerville’s style of play has been compared to that of Senegal international and former Liverpool star Sadio Mane.
