Nottingham Forest reportedly try to hijack West Ham's £7 million move to sign 22-year-old

Nottingham Forest could be about to cause West Ham United a very big problem indeed in the summer transfer window.

The summer transfer window is an absolutely vital one for both West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui is aiming to bring in six new signings this summer, but I think he needs to make eight as a bare minimum.

One of the West Ham manager’s main priorities will be to sign a couple of young and energetic full-backs on both sides of the pitch.

Emerson Palmieri was brilliant last year, whilst Vladimir Coufal can always be relied upon to perform at a fairly solid and consistent level.

However, more competition and cover is definitely required for both players. In fact, the need to sign a new left-back and right-back is being slightly underplayed in my opinion.

However, Forest could be a problem for the Hammers regarding our chances of strengthening one of those positions this summer…

Nottingham Forest to hijack West Ham’s Bradley Locko interest

So the East Midlands outfit could be set to scupper one of the Hammers’ most exciting transfer plans it seems.

West Ham United are said to be chasing the signing of Locko, and reportedly made a £7 million bid for his services.

The Brest star really is a top young talent, and he’d be an exceptional addition to Lopetegui’s ranks. So with that in mind, Forest’s move to sign him could be a real problem for West Ham.

In 33 Ligue 1 outings for Brest last term, Locko averaged 2.9 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per game (Who Scored).

The young Frenchman has really impressive pace, is an extremely solid tackler and has the energy and stamina needed to bomb up and down the left hand flank for the entirety of a match.

I believe Bradley Locko would be the ideal long-term replacement for Emerson at the London Stadium, but Nottingham Forest may well be about to beat West Ham to his signature.

And if that does happen, what a big shame it would be.
