Big West Ham transfer boost as Arsenal reportedly switch attention to 'world-class' £93m attacker

West Ham United have been handed a big transfer boost it seems, after Arsenal switched up their focus regarding their pursuit of a new forward.

Julen Lopetegui has so much work to do at West Ham this summer, and signing a top-class striker should be right at the top of his agenda.

The Hammers boss is said to be prioritising the signing of a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window – and rightly so.

Michail Antonio has been brilliant for the Hammers over the past nine years, but Lopetegui needs to make a big upgrade on the 34-year-old now.

West Ham have been linked with numerous strikers this summer, including the likes of Roma hitman Tammy Abraham and Sevilla ace Youssef En-Nesyri (Give Me Sport).

However, there is another striker out there who I personally think would be the perfect signing for West Ham this summer.

It was highly concerning when Arsenal threw their hat into the ring for his signature last week.

However, it appears as though the Gunners are about to do Lopetegui a massive favour in his hunt for a top-class striker…

Arsenal hand West Ham a big transfer boost

So it seems like the Gunners could be about to make life a whole lot easier for the Hammers this summer.

That’s because Arteta has just switched up transfer targets.

It was claimed last week that Arsenal were trying to beat West Ham to the signing of Serhou Guirassy, with a £15 million bid in the offing from the north London outfit.

However, the Gunners could now be set to move for a much more expensive and ambitious option in the form of Victor Osimhen, according to a report from Area Napoli.

Described as ‘world-class’ last season by Jose Mourinho (Yahoo), Osimhen is a truly elite striker.

Napoli are said to be demanding around €110 million (£93 million) for the 25-year-old centre-forward (Goal), but he could well leave for less than that, with just two years remaining on his current deal with Napoli.

Osimhen has bagged 134 goals in 250 career games for club and country, and he would clearly take Arsenal to another level.

The great thing about the Gunners signing the Nigeria international is that the Hammers should then have a really good chance of bringing Guirassy to the London Stadium.

The former Rennes hitman bagged 30 goals and three assists in just 30 games for Stuttgart last season.

Guirassy is exceptionally strong in the air, possesses really impressive pace and is an elite finisher. He’s the absolute ideal striker for Lopetegui’s system.

Come on Arsenal, do us a huge favour and sign Osimhen this summer – it would be a really big transfer boost for West Ham.
