South Korea considers providing Ukraine with air defense systems and 155-mm artillery shells. The amount of weapon deliveries will depend on Russia's position on its relations with the DPRK, according to Yonhap.
Government sources told the agency that South Korea is considering supplying 155-mm artillery shells and air defense systems that Ukraine needs.
"There are various options for providing weapons, and our position on the recent developments between Russia and North Korea depends on how Russia approaches the situation going forward," the official said.
Yonhap notes that South Korea has previously supplied Ukraine with only non-lethal equipment for the war against Russia in accordance with a policy that prohibits the provision of lethal weapons to countries at war.
Expansion of the partnership between Russia and the DPRK
On June 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the DPRK capital Pyongyang.
There, Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which provides for immediate mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the countries.
