Texas Sen. Ted Cruz Demands Justice for Jocelyn Nungaray’s Murder, Calls For Death Penalty

12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray

The tragic murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray has sparked outrage and calls for immediate action from U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.

Nungaray, a young girl from Houston, Texas, was allegedly killed by two illegal aliens who had recently entered the country through El Paso.

In a strongly worded statement, Senator Cruz has placed the blame squarely on the Biden administration's "open border policies," demanding that the perpetrators face the ultimate punishment and that the current administration take decisive steps to secure the border and prevent such horrific crimes from occurring in the future.

On June 21, 2024, the news of Jocelyn Nungaray's murder sent shockwaves through the Houston community and the nation as a whole.

According to reports, the 12-year-old girl was tragically killed, and two suspects, both illegal aliens who had entered the United States through El Paso earlier that year, were apprehended and arrested in connection with the crime.

“This is horrifying. If guilty, both of these men should receive the death penalty for this horrible crime. These men are illegal aliens and Jocelyn Nungaray would still be alive and with her family if not for Joe Biden’s open border policies," said Cruz.

"The Biden administration is directly responsible. My heart goes out to Jocelyn’s family. We must give them justice. Joe Biden is out of excuses: He must reinstate Remain in Mexico and end catch-and-release immediately, or we will lose more innocent life. There is no time for half measures—we need to look at what works, and do it now," Cruz added.

The death toll of young American women at the hands of illegal immigrants continues to rise under President Joe Biden.

Fresh off the news about an illegal immigrant being apprehended in Oklahoma for the rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old Maryland mother of 5, two illegals from Venezuela were caught in the brutal rape and slaying of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray.

Houston police arrested Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, after Jocelyn was strangled and dumped in a creek earlier this week.

The suspects face capital murder charges.

Houston police declined to address reports that the accused killers are Venezuelan nationals.

However, Ramos illegally entered the U.S. on May 28 through El Paso and was quickly released by Border Patrol agents.

He reportedly told authorities that he was going to live with a cousin in Houston before his scheduled court appearance in July.

DHS sources acknowledged that Martinez also illegally entered the U.S. through El Paso in March and was released for an unknown reason.

Investigators used surveillance footage to track movements by Martinez and Ramos before and after Jocelyn’s killing.

The sad news about Jocelyn and Morin was sandwiched by other reports about illegal immigrant crimes.

As the Tampa Free Press reported, on Thursday, five illegal immigrants from Honduras and Mexico were arrested in Missouri after allegedly kidnapping a 14-year-old girl from her home in Indiana.

Meanwhile, an illegal from Ecuador was arrested for kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in a New York City park.

Of course, there have been others in recent months.

The most well-known case was the murder in February of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley by a gang member who entered the U.S. illegally from Venezuela.

A month later, authorities found 25-year-old Ruby Garcia shot to death and dumped along a highway near Grand Rapids. She was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, a Mexican national who entered the country illegally after being deported in 2020.
