Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea will review documents this weekend before completing £55m signing

Chelsea will reportedly sit down this weekend to review documents for a new signing.

Chelsea got off to a quick start this summer by confirming the arrival of central defender Tosin Adarabioyo, 26, on a free transfer.

The Blues are yet to push any more deals over the line yet, though.

It’s been claimed for a while in the media that Palmeiras teenager Estevao Willian is close to signing for Chelsea.

If he joins, he’ll become the latest in a long line of South American young talents to sign at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea discussing new signing this weekend

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed via X on Friday night that Chelsea and Palmeiras will meet this weekend to discuss the transfer of Estevao.

It is explained that the 17-year-old attacker has already completed his medical and will join up with the Blues squad in 2025 after his 18th birthday.

Apparently, Chelsea could end up paying Brazilian giants Palmeiras a deal worth as much as €65m (£55m) if all the add-ons are met.

Estevao to Chelsea is a deal that has been rumoured for many weeks. Hopefully, the clubs can finalise it and make an announcement.

Journalist Eduardo Burgos claimed via X on 11 June that Palmeiras’ rising star Estevao was on the brink of joining Chelsea and that a deal is ‘practically done’.

Blues supporters best get used to this patience because they won’t be able to see him playing in England until 2025.

Who is Estevao Willian?

We doubt Premier League audiences will know too much about Estevao, but Chelsea supporters that have followed this ongoing transfer saga will be a bit more familiar.

Estevao, 17, is a highly skilful right-winger that’s broken into the Palmeiras first team and is now making his impact. He’s got four goals and three assists in 23 senior matches to date.

It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how much the Brazilian forward develops in the next year.
