'He was killing us': Kylian Mbappe amazed by £52m player at Euro 2024 after claims Arsenal want to sign him

Kylian Mbappe appears to have been impressed by one Arsenal target after watching him play at Euro 2024.

The Frenchman had to sit on the bench in the game between France and the Netherlands on Friday night due to a broken nose.

Mbappe was available for selection and he even had his mask ready. However, Didier Deschamps didn’t think it was worth the risk, and we agree with him.

The France superstar got to watch the whole game from the bench as his side were held to a 0-0 draw by Ronald Koeman‘s Netherlands side.

A video has now emerged where Mbappe can be seen delivering his verdict on one Dutch player who Arsenal are said to be intersted in.

Kylian Mbappe says he thought Xavi Simons was ‘killing’ France

Xavi Simons is one of the most talented young players at Euro 2024.

The Dutchman, who is on PSG’s books but spent the 2023/24 season at RB Leipzig on loan, has become a regular starter for the Netherlands.

Simons started on the right-wing in his side’s opening game against Austria, but he was given a more central role on Friday night when Holland faced France.

It was a much better performance from the PSG man, who was busy and worked incredibly hard throughout the game.

Simons also found the back of the net in the second half and it would’ve been the winner. However, a VAR review showed that Denzel Dumfries, who was in an offside position, obstructed the goalkeeper.

That goal was ruled out and Mbappe, who was watching from the bench, breathed a huge sigh of relief.

The Frenchman, however, seems to have been impressed with Simons.

Before heading into their respective dressing rooms, Mbappe caught up with his old pal Georginio Wijnaldum for a chat. During their conversation, he spotted Simons walking towards them.

In a video posted by Dutch outlet NOS Sports, Mbappe can be seen pointing at the Dutchman and saying: “Hey, I was thinking he was killing us!”

The Frenchman then gave Simons a hug and had a quick chat with him before heading back in.

Arsenal have made contact to sign Simons

Arsenal are on the market for a versatile attacker and Simons checks a lot of boxes.

The Dutchman can play on wither wing and also in attacking midfield. He is a really exciting talent, and there is a chance he will be available for a transfer this summer.

L’Equipe have claimed that Arsenal have made contact to sign Simons, who is valued at £52 million.

The 21-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season, and everyone believes he has a huge future ahead of him.

It will be interesting to what will happen with Simons, but we think he would be a great signing for Arsenal this summer.
