Liverpool's Andy Robertson reacts after hearing heartbreaking news about £25m Arsenal player

Arsenal were dealt some bad news regarding one of their players at Euro 2024.

The Gunners have a fantastic squad. They have multiple top-quality players in their side, and nine of them were called up to their national teams for the European Championships.

Most Arsenal players started the tournament well, but there have been disappointments for some.

One of them has now flown back to Arsenal due to an injury, and he is ‘heartbroken’. Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has shown him some love.

Andy Robertson reacts after heartbreaking news about Kieran Tierney

Arsenal signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic in the summer of 2019 for £25 million (Sky Sports).

The Scot came to the club with an injury that delayed his Gunners debut till October. However, he became an instant fan favourite at the Emirates right after he took the pitch for the first time.

Tierney is one of the best left-backs in the country when he’s fit, but injuries have constantly troubled him since his move to Arsenal.

The defender has missed nearly 400 days of football because of injury issues. He has been so unlucky time and again, and that has been very sad to see.

Scotland had something to celebrate after their 1-1 draw against Switzerland at Euro 2024, but Tierney suffered another injury in that game.

The Arsenal man was stretchered off the pitch, and it has been confirmed now that he has flown back to North London to have his injury assessed by the club’s doctors (BBC).

After the terrible news came out, Tierney took to Instagram to express his disappointment.

“Heartbroken doesn’t cut it. Love this team and these boys. This too shall pass,” he wrote.

Liverpool star Robertson and Aston Villa’s John McGinn both showed Tierney some love by replying with a couple of heart emojis each.

Arsenal have a big problem now

Tierney dropped down the pecking order in the 2022/23 season and was then sent out on loan to Real Sociedad in the following campaign.

The Scot had injury issues in Spain as well. He missed 21 games in all competitions due to three different injuries, which was really sad to see.

Arsenal were expected to sell Tierney this summer, and there has been interest in the left-back. Reports claimed Fulham were interested in the left-back for whom the Gunners wanted £15 million.

Now, if Tierney’s injury turns out to be a serious one, a move in this transfer window will become extremely unlikely. That would be a huge blow for Arsenal.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Tierney in the coming weeks.
