Tottenham need reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch in this summer’s transfer window, and a new striker should be high on their list.

Tottenham want to sign Jonathan David from Lille
Jonathan David has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a long time.
The Canada international has been among the best strikers in Ligue 1 since he joined Lille from KAA Gent in the summer of 2020.
Now, David’s future is up in the air again after he enters the final year of his contract. Lille president Olivier Letang has even confirmed that he will be allowed to leave.
That has put many clubs on high alert, with iNews reporting that Tottenham are providing stiff competition to Manchester United in the race to sign David.
West Ham United and Aston Villa are also said to be to interested in the talented striker, who Lille are hoping to sell for £25 million in this window.
David had a fine 2023/24 season for Lille. He scored 26 goals in all competitions, which is a better return than the likes of Heung-min Son (17), Bukayo Saka (20) and even Mohamed Salah (25).
Tottenham are yet to replace Harry Kane up front, and although David is not similar to the Englishman, his directness in attack would make him a great fit in Postecoglou’s system.

The Canadian has been directly involved in 102 goals in 183 appearances for Lille, which is a very impressive return considering that he only turned 24 in January.
David has impressed many people during his time in France, including Arsenal great Thierry Henry, who knows a thing or two about being a world-class striker.
