Quinn Ewers highlighted two wins in his college football career that stood out above the rest and they’re doozies for Texas.

It was hard to pick his favorite win, so Ewers picked one from each of his first two seasons with the Longhorns. Speaking with Robert Griffin III, Ewers picked a rivalry win and a standout win.

Texas fans should love that.

“Favorite win? I mean, I feel like there can be two,” Ewers said on RG3 and The Ones. “I think my first year, that game against (Oklahoma), 49-0. That was a lot of fun. I think everybody got to play too, which makes that even better.”

Going back to October of 2022, Ewers went off against the Sooners. He finished that game 21-of-31 passing for 289 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

But the other game put Texas on the map last season. It catapulted a year in which the Longhorns made the College Football Playoff.

“Going to Alabama last year and getting that one done,” Ewers said. “I mean, just the last drive of the game, I think that just says a lot about how we carry ourselves here. Held the ball over seven minutes in the game. It’s hard to do.”

Winning 34-24 in Tuscaloosa wasn’t easy. Ewers was awesome again, going 24-of-38 passing for 349 yards and three touchdowns. Not only that, Texas trailed 16-13 going into the fourth quarter and proceeded to outscore Alabama 21-8 over the course of the final 15 minutes.

If the last two years are any indication, Ewers will be even better in 2024, likely his final season at Texas.

Ewers feels like there is no better place for a quarterback to play, saying head coach Steve Sarkisian knows what he’s doing. Between his playing days at BYU and into professional football before moving into the coaching world, Sarkisian has a lengthy and successful resume when it comes to quarterback.

“He knows what it feels like to be in our shoes,” Ewers said. “We’re getting a PhD in quarterback play here. He’s been there, he’s done that, he’s had Heisman Trophy winners, he’s had first-round draft picks. You’d be silly to not trust the guy.”

A lot of quarterbacks are trusting Sarkisian at the moment. Ewers should see results pay off next April where he is a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. And then there is Arch Manning hanging in the balance, getting a stamp of approval from arguably the first family in football.
