Cesc Fabregas has now claimed that Man City have someone who is a better player than Harry Kane

Cesc Fabregas knows what it takes to be a top player in the Premier League.

In 501 combined appearances for Arsenal and Chelsea, the former midfielder scored 79 goals, delivered 152 assists and won two Premier League titles along the way.

As well as that, the Spaniard played with and alongside a plethora of top players during his time in England.

With a significant number of top-level players, including 14 from Manchester City, representing their countries in the 2024 European Championship, the former Spain star has shared his thoughts on a handful of them, with one particular City star getting a very noticeable mention.

Cesc Fabregas ranks Kevin De Bruyne above Harry Kane

Appearing in a recent video shared on the BBC Sport TikTok channel, Fabregas was involved in a challenge where he had to blind rank 10 players currently featuring in the Euros.

After putting Harry Kane in fourth position, the next option for the Spaniard to rank was Kevin De Bruyne, who he put in third place.

De Bruyne is more familiar with silverware than Kane

During his time in Tottenham Hotspur’s senior side, the Englishman scored 280 goals in 435 appearances across all competitions.

In his debut season at Bayern Munich, Kane found the back of the net 44 times in 45 games but ultimately didn’t get his hands on a trophy.

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium back in 2015, De Bruyne has not only scored 102 goals and supplied 170 assists in 382 games, but he’s also won six Premier League titles and the Champions League among other domestic and European trophies.

Even though Kane has a better goalscoring record in England than the City star, who Danny Murphy recently described as being the Roger Federer of football, we feel that not many supporters of the Manchester club would disagree with Fabregas’ ranking.

In our view, taking into account what De Bruyne has won with City and how effective he in when it comes to scoring and creating goals, we also agree that he deserves to be ranked higher than Kane.
