'His brains are pudding': Internet mocks Trump for 'incoherent' defense of 'rambling' rant

Donald Trump on Saturday sought to push back against reports that he was "rambling" when he told a story about sharks and electrocution at a recent rally, leading some onlookers to say his attempt to defend his remarks were worse than the original telling itself.

Trump earlier in June ranted at a rally about batteries and shark attacks, leading the internet to question the ex-president's mental capacity. The former president was speaking in Las Vegas, when he at one point veered off into a discussion about shark attacks while apparently discussing President Joe Biden's environmental priorities related to electric vehicles.

Trump was ridiculed for those remarks, causing him to bring them up again while giving the keynote address for the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" in Washington, D.C.

"You heard my story, the boat with the shark," Trump said to the crowd. "I got killed on that! They thought I was rambling."

"I'm not rambling. They want to make boats and they are demanding that they all be battery operated," he said before claiming he visited a boat yard where they complained that they "can't get the boat to float" because they are being required to go electric.

"Then I start talking, asking questions," Trump continued, adding that he had a relative who was a professor at M.I.T. Trump further asked his hypothetical question, which involved potentially being electrocuted as the boat sinks or being eaten by a shark.

"It's actually not crazy, it's sort of a smart story," Trump added after the conclusion.

Trump's attempt to defend the story didn't go well on social media.

Popular account Spiro's Ghost said, "Wow. His brains are pudding."

"This is..just…dementia on steroids," they added. "He always has to amplify how deteriorated his brain is because he knows its getting worse so he thinks if he jokes about it, it makes him seem normal? It just makes him seem even more dementia laden [and] deranged!"

"He then somehow manages to tell a more incoherent version of the electrocution/shark/boats speech and wraps it up by calling it a smart story: It’s not crazy, it’s sort of a smart story right?" they added.

Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann also chimed in:

"Jesus H. Christ, Trump. You and the f------- shark. Just jump the shark. Just jump the goddamned shark. Again."

@ArtCandee wrote, "These are not the words of a sane person."
