Turkish press claim Galatasaray can sign one of Man Utd's top goalscorers last season for just £12.6m, suggest he's keen on move

Manchester United are definitely looking to get rid of some deadweight this summer, but they’ll be appalled by how much the Turkish press claim they can sign one of their star players for.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos mob taking over the transfer side of things around Old Trafford, it’s set to be a busy ol’ summer.

There have already been some departures. Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane have been confirmed to have played their last games in a red shirt.

But then there have been several rumours, particularly surrounding some of the first-team squad heading to Turkey. Although, the latest one about Scott McTominay is someone laughable.

Turkish press claim Galatasaray want Scott McTominay

According to Turkish journalist Yeni Asır, via news outlet Fotomac, they suggest Galatasaray want to make Manchester United’s 27-year-old Scottish midfielder McTominay a signing this summer.

But not only do they think they can prise him away from Carrington, they believe they can do so for just €15 million (£12.6 million). Aslan says they have made significant progress in the transfer negotiations of the Euro 2024 star.

The report also states that McTominay is keen to play for the yellow and red, and is expected to reach an agreement in talks with his agent.

It finally states that even though his market value is €37 million, they think €15 million is what United will sell their third top-goalscorer in the 23/24 season for, given the fact he doesn’t make the starting XI.

Turkish clubs interested in other Manchester United stars…

This isn’t the first rumour to surface regarding Manchester United stars heading to the Super Lig this summer.

The Turkish media also claim United are willing to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Galatasaray, with the price range speculated to be a little more that Scott’s at £16.9m.

There are also claims that former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to make a double swoop for both Victor Lindelof and Casemiro, bringing the duo to his new home in Fenerbache. They could link up with Fred who moved last summer.

Whether any of these are true remains to be seen, but the price ranges look a little dubious. Let’s see what comes to fruition as the transfer window progresses.
