Report: PSG have just made move to sign Euro 2024 ace after claims Ange Postecoglou wants him at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to face competition from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain should they firm up their interest in a player currently at Euro 2024.

Ange Postecoglou is gearing up for a busy summer with plenty of changes expected to be made at Tottenham.

Spurs have already offloaded five players on free transfers after the departures of Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele.

Postecoglou’s men will now be working on picking up fees for players with no futures under the Aussie and Emerson Royal could be the first to head out the door.

But with Spurs searching for potential replacements for the Brazilian, they are likely to face stern competition for PSG for one of their targets.

PSG make move for Tottenham target

One player who has emerged as a possible replacement for Royal is Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida.

Tottenham are reportedly in pole position to sign Geertruida as Liverpool boss Arne Slot hesitates over a move for the defender.

But according to L’Equipe, PSG have ramped up their interest in Geertruida over the weekend.

The French outlet claims that the Ligue 1 giants have already offered the Feyenoord star a contract as they search for a new centre-back.

Tottenham will have to move fast for Geertruida

Given that Liverpool and PSG are keen on Geertruida, Spurs cannot afford to wait too long should they firm up their interest.

The 23-year-old is currently at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands and should he impress in Germany, interest is only likely to increase.

Geertruida represents an ideal profile for Postecoglou due to his ability to play as a right-back and central defender.

His passing range is also impressive, which led to Slot using him as a defensive midfielder during his time in Rotterdam.

Geertruida will also reportedly be available for £25 million as he enters the final year of his contract with Feyenoord, which represents fantastic value for a defender of his quality.
